School-Based Grief Support

In addition to regular programming held at our Toledo, Ohio facility, Good Grief of NW Ohio engages with local school districts to support grieving children in a variety of ways. 

In-School Support Groups

Because many families are unable to attend support groups at our program space, Good Grief works in partnership with school counselors to provide support groups in many area schools.

Parents/caregivers interested in a group at their child's school should reach out to the school administration. 


School Staff Support

Sometimes the entire school population is affected by the death of a fellow student or teacher, or a local crisis situation. Good Grief can  provide educational presentations for teachers, counselors, and administrators. 

Presentations can be customized to the specific needs of staff. Depending on staff availability, we can also be available for consultations regarding the needs of a grieving student, class, or school. 

Resources & Referrals

Good Grief staff is readily available to provide guidance and reference literature for parents and teachers working with a child who is grieving.
