How is Good Grief Different?

Good Grief is the only not for profit free-standing organization in Northwest Ohio devoted solely to supporting grieving children and their caregivers after a death has impacted their lives.

Our program is open-ended, which means there is no established timeframe.  Kids and caregivers decide how long they need our support.

Since 2013, Good Grief has supported hundreds of young people ages 4 through 24, and their caregivers because we believe that children need and deserve support and understanding as they navigate through grief.

Another key factor is Good Grief’s support of the adult caregiver.  Our adult support groups are facilitated by experienced licensed counselors. We strongly believe that adequate support for the adult helps a grieving child focus on their own experiences, and not worry about the adult’s needs.

Good Grief staff and Board of Directors work very hard to increase awareness of our services by establishing partnerships with schools, local agencies, mental health providers, and other professionals in the community to create and promote a safety net for grieving children in our community.
