Welcome to the New Year! It is that time of year when every email and text message starts with some variation of "I hope your holidays were good." We genuinely hope that your holidays were good. But for the Good Grief team, this year's holidays landed a bit differently.

Two of us had family members die in December, two of us were in bed with the flu, and one of us had to replace a car engine. The irony does not escape us that the two weeks earmarked for rest, relaxation, family time, and merriment turned out to be very difficult for each of us in one way or another.

And while none of us would have wished for any of this to happen, it was an honest and beautiful reminder of how important it is to hold one another up when we feel broken and alone. To give and receive comfort and caring, and to hold space for each other until we feel stronger.

Now, we’re back together to do the important work of supporting grieving young people and their families. We are grateful for how our kids, families, and volunteers show up for each other when things feel dark while also sharing moments of light and grace.

Thank you - Your Good Grief Team
